Meet the teacher: Betsy Snow, photo
One of our most popular instructors, Betsy Snow, is back this year to teach photo, but with an added spin: Insights from a trip to Cuba where she was not only inspired but made photos that are sure to inspire others.
This photo portfolio, created with the photo storytelling platform Steller, is a good introduction to Betsy’s work, as well as a great tool that Betsy will be teaching to students who attend Newsroom by the Bay this year.
In addition to morning classes, Betsy will be leading afternoon Photo Treks on campus and in downtown Palo Alto, which will give students a chance to put their morning learning into afternoon action.
When she’s not traveling or trekking, Betsy is a journalism adviser and teacher at Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton, which has an award-winning journalism program including The Mark magazine, which won a Pacemaker award earlier this month at the national high school journalism convention in Los Angeles.
