Teen Vogue explores impact of Trump-media war on summer study, including NBTB
What impact does President Trump’s dislike of the media have on U.S. journalism programs? That’s the subject of an article in Teen Vogue, quoting from leaders of high school journalism programs, summer journalism workshops, and university journalism schools, including Newsroom by the Bay.
“There is more passion,” Laura Widmer, executive director for the National Scholastic Press Association/Associated Collegiate Press, told writer Nick Padiak. “I think there is more rigor. There is more of an awareness of really the job of journalists.”
Schools such as the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland and summer camps including NBTB saw a spike in applications, Padiak reported.
