NBTB 2014 begins with new students, new stories, new voices
Newsroom by the Bay’s 2014 session begins tomorrow, with new students arriving for our Early Arrival Program and beginning to report, write, record and photograph the beauty of California’s marine environment during a trip to the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium.
Our regular program will begin on Monday with check-in from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Okada House on the beautiful Stanford campus. Our address is 658 Escondido Road, which leads to the Wilbur Housing Complex. Please look for our team leaders and counselors, who will be wearing red and black Newsroom by the Bay T-shirts. We’ll meet you at Wilbur and take you to Okada to meet other students as they arrive.
This post will also be one of the last that I (Beatrice) do in this space. With this writing, I gladly turn over the voice of Newsroom by the Bay for a week to Casey Miller and Simon Greenhill, our counselors-in-training, who will be blogging, posting, photo gallery creating, and video-making in this space, as well as handling our Twitter and Facebook presence.
Year 2 students last year, Casey and Simon were instrumental in the launch of our “One Day, One Story” website and their commitment to student journalism and the work we do couldn’t be stronger.
So, please enjoy what Casey and Simon bring to you over the next few days. It will be great to see them in action, along with all of our students here at Newsroom by the Bay.
