Three words to describe NBTB: “Most incredible experience”

Here’s another letter we received recently, from Morgan Skidmore, a senior at Olathe South High School in Olathe, Kan., who attended NBTB last summer:

I would just like to express my gratitude to you for all of your hard work and dedication. Your passion and love for all facets of journalism is one of an infectious nature. The amount of knowledge I was able to gain in a short one-week period of time amazed me ….

At NBTB I was able to meet students from all over the country, and that was such an eye-opening experience for me, as well as learning so much about social media and its effect on journalism …. At NBTB I was able to (learn) ways to improve websites, (use) Twitter, and add elements to web-based projects. These skills are invaluable to my job (an internship with the public relations department for the city of Olathe). They have been so impressed with the ideas I am able to produce. I owe this success to you …

Someday, I want to greet the nation as (Americans) drink their morning coffee, and watch me as an anchor on the morning news …

In everyday conversations, I often mention my incredible experience at Stanford University with all of the people from Newsroom by the Bay. I cannot thank you enough for making my dreams a reality. I will never forget you or the things I learned.

Morgan wins an inflatable shark for answering our Twitter call to describe NBTB in three words. Morgan’s submission: “Most Incredible Experience.”

Thanks, Morgan!
