Hike to the top of Hoover Tower, sign up for a golf cart tour of Stanford’s 8,000-plus acres of athletic facilities and academic buildings, or spend a quiet hour in the Rodin sculpture garden at the Cantor Arts Center — whatever you’re interested in, you’re sure to find something to do on campus at Stanford. More information is available at Stanford’s Tourists and First-Time Visitors Guide and Stanford’s Event Calendar.
While NBTB students will be spending the majority of their time on campus during our program, Stanford is a short shuttle-bus ride away from Palo Alto’s University Avenue, including restaurants, shops and The Stanford Theater, which screens movie classics, as well as the Stanford Shopping Center, with major retailers, restaurants and a European street market.
Stanford’s location puts it at the forefront of the shift to digital media. Possible field trips include:
- Visit The Stanford Daily, Stanford Magazine, Patch.com‘s Silicon Valley bureau and The Palo Alto Weekly
- Trip to a local newspaper press facility
- View and review a film at the Palo Alto Square on opening night
- Sights and sounds of the Stanford Jazz Festival
